Abstract

A Microsoft PowerPoint presentation on the current state of US airports and airlines, as well as a brief discussion of airport capacity, infrastructure, and funding issues. Included are additional discussions on environmental review(s) of airport capacity improvement projects and the importance of airport capacity and intermodal transfers of passengers and cargo between surface and air transportation modes. Includes a brief case study of how San Francisco International Airport identified and mitigated surface transportation issues in conjunction with the development of the Airport’s Near Term Master Plan.

Currently a Senior Transportation Planner, he has been with the San Francisco Airport Commission since 1988. He received a B.A. degree in Political Science/Public Service from the University of California - Davis, and a M.U.P. degree from San Jose State University. A member of AICP since 1987 and a member of ITE since 2001, he is a regular speaker on airport ground access issues at numerous conferences sponsored by the American Association of Airport Executives, the Airport Ground Transportation Association, and the Airport Consultants Council.
